Handwalla Bwana is taking his talents to the next level of soccer, but he only has to go a few miles south to do so. The sophomore midfielder was signed by Seattle Sounders FC as a homegrown, and is set to join the first team for the 2018 preseason.

Bwana appeared in 19 games for the Huskies this past season, leading the squad with eight goals and adding six assists to his statsheet. At the end of the season, he was named first-team all-Pac-12.

In his freshman season, Bwana scored four goals and tallied seven assists en route to being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.

Before coming to Montlake, Bwana starred at Ballard High School, also playing in the Sounders’ academy and for Seattle United.
