Hops, sip, and a chug: Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat

Brewery: Blue Moon Brewing Company ABV: 5.2% Bitterness: 15 IBU Tasted out of the bottle. Purchased at Safeway, and available at most grocery stores.
As the calendar turns to June, the beer aisles in supermarkets become inundated with various “summer beers.” These light, flavorful beers tend to be full of taste, which can make differences difficult to notice. But the Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat has a very distinct flavor that differentiates it from other summer ales. Rather than trying to overpower your senses, the Summer Honey Wheat is a light-bodied ale that gently satisfies the taste buds. As with most Blue Moon beers, there is a hint of orange zest, which, combined with the honey flavor, gives it a sweet taste that is truly enjoyable and refreshing. Along with the wheat taste, these flavors combine to create a beer that is light, smooth, and tasty. It’s not bitter, nor is it too heavily alcoholic at 5.2 percent ABV, which makes it the perfect refreshment for a day of relaxation in the summer sun.
