1 top-five win for the Huskies under head coach Steve Sarkisian

In head coach Steve Sarkisian’s third game at the helm of Washington football, the Huskies shocked the nation and put themselves on the map with a 16-13 win over then-No. 3 USC. It was the UW's second consecutive win after losing 15 games in a row, including Tyrone Willignham’s final 14 games on Montlake. Erik Folk’s game-winning field goal with three seconds left downed the Trojans and put the Willingham era in the rearview mirror for good. But, since that stunning win over Pete Carroll’s Trojans, the Huskies haven't been able to duplicate the feat. They have lost three consecutive games to teams ranked in the top-five, falling to No. 1 Oregon in 2010 and No. 3 LSU and the second-ranked Ducks in 2012. This year, it looks like the Huskies will get at least one chance at a top-five team, if not two. On Oct. 5, the UW travels to No. 4 Stanford, and No. 3 Oregon visits Seattle the following week. If the UW program is ready to make the leap and contend for the Pac-12 title, the Huskies need to prove they can beat the best. Sarkisian has done it before. Can he do it again?
