Austin Seferian-Jenkins drafted 38th overall

Former Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was selected in the second round of the NFL draft on Friday afternoon by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He became the first UW player taken in this year’s draft when the Buccaneers took Seferian-Jenkins with the 38th overall pick, the sixth of the second round. In three seasons at the UW, Seferian-Jenkins set records for most receptions (146), yards (1,838), and touchdowns (21) for a tight end. He won the Mackey Award for the nation’s best tight end in 2013. Seferian-Jenkins will join three former Huskies in Tampa Bay: Safety Dashon Goldson, defensive end Daniel Te’o-Nesheim, and linebacker Mason Foster.
