Huskies remain in sixth at Ihlenfeldt

The UW women's golf team remained in sixth place yesterday during the second-round play of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at Sahalee Country Club in Sammimish, Wash. The No. 2 Huskies carded a team score of 307 to put them at 41-over par. They are currently 20 shots off leader No. 9 Oklahoma State who had a 13-over par team performance yesterday. "We haven't clicked on all cylinders like we did in our last competition," said coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "We just need to get it all together tomorrow." After the first two rounds, freshman Kim Shin continues to lead Washington after an even-par performance put her in sole possession of seventh place. Sophomores Courtney McCracken and Amber Prange also both had solid rounds yesterday to vault themselves up the leaderboard. "Kim has been really steady, which is great for a freshman," Mulflur said. "She's played very solidly for us in these first couple tournaments." Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin still holds the top spot at 1-under par for the tournament. The final round will take place tomorrow, with tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m.
