After a steady start yesterday in the first round of the Pac-10 championships, the Washington women's golf team currently sits in fourth place.
The No. 11 Huskies sit nine strokes off of tournament leader UCLA after carding a 10-over 298.
Washington is closely trailed in the team standings by Washington State and Arizona, which shot 11-over 299 and 12-over 300 respectively.
The Bruins lead the tournament after carding 1-over 289. USC is in second place at 3-over par.
Junior Paige Mackenzie and sophomore Amber Prange led the way for the Huskies. The two teammates currently sit among four others in a tie for seventh place, finishing the round at 1-over 73.
Sophomore Courtney McCracken and freshman Kim Shin are tied for 20th as they both shot 4-over par.
Junior Sung Ea Lee is tied for 39th at 7-over par; however, as she is the low score of the day for the UW, her score did not count for the team total.
At the top of the individual leaderboard, five players are under par. Susie Mathews of UCLA leads the tournament after posting a 4-under 68. She leads Arizona State's Louise Stahle by one.
Tournament play continues today at 8 a.m.
