Williams-Goss returning for sophomore season

Washington guard Nigel Williams-Goss told CSNNW.com on Monday that he would not enter the 2014 NBA Draft, and will return to Montlake for his sophomore year. The 6-foot-3 guard was a McDonald’s All-American in 2013 as a high school senior, and he continued his upward progression as a freshman this past year. Under the tutelage of head coach Lorenzo Romar, Williams-Goss started all 32 games for the UW, averaging 13.4 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. “I’m very excited to be coming back,” Williams-Goss told CSNNW.com via phone. “I believe in the development of our current team along with the new recruits we got coming in, that we have a great chance to compete for the title in the Pac-12.” Williams-Goss is the Huskies’ leading returning scorer with the departure of C.J. Wilcox. NCAA rules state that underclassmen must withdraw their name from NBA draft consideration by April 15th to be allowed to return to college.
