Art to Heart: The Gum Wall
When I first came to Seattle to scout out the UW, I knew I had to visit Pike Place Market. I got wonderfully lost and after 30 minutes ended up going down a set of narrow steps in an effort to escape the crowd and get my bearings. To my delight, I found myself in an alley where the walls were coated with gum so thick I couldn’t see the brick beneath. Others might have found it gross, but I thought it was art. I felt like I had stumbled into Seattle’s version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
