Graduate student Seth Wing is the lead investigator in a project which examines the carbon concentration in the Elwha river sediments. The CHN (carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen) analyzer combusts the soil samples to measure the amount of carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen in each.
