Humble Feast: The journey that ends on your plate
On Nov. 14, the ASUW Student Food Co-operation hosted their bi-annual Humble Feast.
With more than 200 students in attendance, the dinner celebrated community and encouraged students to explore how everyday food choices impact other people’s lives.
Students were able to enjoy healthy and delicious food such as kale salad and roasted vegetables as a community.
“Food is so integral to everything we are,” Emma Wilson, a member of Sustainable Curriculum Coalition, said.
“Every event is focused on education and every big project we do is focused on being the bridge between students and sustainability, ethically produced food,” Hannah Alethea Jordan, external manager of ASUW Student Food Co-op, said.
In addition to putting on events such as the Humble Feast, the ASUW Student Food Co-op runs “The Bean Basket," a bulk goods store located in the HUB that provides affordable, non-perishable, and sustainable goods at wholesale price.
The next Humble Feast will be May 14.
