Walking into an art museum, one may not expect an exhibit’s theme to be AIDS. However, from now to Jan. 10, 2016, the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) is devoting a large section of the museum to an exhibition showing artworks related to AIDS from the early 1980s to the present, titled “Art AIDS America.”

Earlier this year, I was chatting online with my aunt in Singapore while cooking my instant noodles. After briefly exchanging stories from our uneventful lives, she started complaining about the haze all over Singapore.

On Wednesday, North Korean refugee Grace Jo, using an alias to protect her identity, came to the UW to share her journey and raise awareness for the human rights issues in North Korea in the “Secret Talks with North Korean Refugee” event held in Smith Hall.
